FAQ’s

Q: How much does a typical lawn mowing service cost?

A: It is difficult to estimate how much your lawn will cost, as two homes and their lawns are never the same. Give us a call, and we can attend your home promptly to give you a free, no obligation quote.

Q: Do I need to fertilise my lawn?

A: We recommend fertilising your lawn with a slow release fertiliser, such as Scott?s Lawn Builder, 2 to 3 times per year. Scott?s also have products with added weed killer or added wetting agent, which can be beneficial to your lawn. We can do this for you, and usually charge the same price as your regular lawn mowing plus costs.

Q: Do you charge per hour or a fixed price?

A: For lawn mowing we charge a fixed price so you know exactly what you are paying each visit. For larger gardening jobs we charge a fixed price, or for smaller jobs where we are doing 1-2 hours each visit we can charge an hourly rate.

Q: How often do I need to have my lawn mowed?

A: This depends on your type of grass and a number of other factors, but as a typical guide we suggest every 2 weeks in summer, every 3 weeks in spring and autumn and every 4 weeks in winter.

Q: How often do I need to have my hedging done?

A: Most are done on a quarterly basis, but often don?t need doing through winter, but depends on the type of hedge.

Q: How do you weed my garden?

A: The most effective way is to hand weed the larger and hardier weeds, poison the smaller grassier types using Glyphosate, which is very affective but is not long lasting so won?t damage the soil and then apply a mulch such as wood chip to help prevent the weeds growing back.

Q: Do you offer tree loping?

A: We can do smaller trees, up to about 4 meters high, as long as there is no risk of the tree falling and damaging property. You will find we charge a fraction of the price of a tree lopper
